African migrants in the med

Just watching the news and the hundreds of migrants they are picking up just off Libya, they are mostly from west Africa so we are told they are economic migrants.
Why are these people not just returned to Libya as once they are landed in Italy wether they are economic migrants or not they will never be returned.

Put a bullet in the dingy.. Ffs.. Word will get around hopefully and they won't attempt it.. Failing that, instead of giving squillions in aid, just put some pill,in their wells to stop them fucking breeding! Simple really.

If countries like Germany create a magnet for people then they'll find a way to come. There's not much point closing off the Turkey/Greece route if they'll just come through Italy or Spain instead.

One thing I would say for the black African migrants to the EU is that they are mostly honest about their motives. It may be just their naivety but when interviewed they generally admit they have done it in order to escape poverty and to get a better life for themselves.
The contrast with some of the Middle Eastern migrants is stark - they destroy ID documents and lie about where they are from and what has happened to them, they bring children (not necessarily theirs) as a kind of entry visa, they riot when borders are closed to them, and once settled in a more liberal country they take advantage of their freedoms to do as they please including insulting behaviour towards women.
Of course this is a generalisation: Syrians are forced to flee en masse and they alone should be given a fair hearing. The EU should get tough on all other illegal immigrants but how can you expect 28 countries to give it the same priority? Our government is making no noises about it because migration is the main thing which could lose them the referendum.

The more they show these arrivals in Sicily/Italy, the more LEAVE votes in 6 weeks time.I don't know why they are not returned to Africa. Many of them will make their way to Calais I expect.

All REMAIN voters should note in the event they win the referendum, that this is the future they plan for themselves and their families.

Can someone give me a geography lesson as to nearby countries that are a bit more black that they could flee to?
Or the thinking behind making a dangerous sea journey to Italy ..... a country that I am sure even Italians would admit isn't terribly keen on black people?
